At work today….
I went to the hallway to get a little old (and deaf and confused) lady for an x-ray.
“Hello Mrs X, I need to bring you into the room for a chest x-ray”
“A SEX x-ray?!?! You’d think they already know that!”
Imagine. Happily living 82 years, and then they want to take a sex x-ray to see what you really are.

My little salamander
Last Thursday, Sarah finished up her first time through Salamander. It was parent’s participation day, and Daddy got to swim with her, and Mommy got to take some pictures. She LOVED her swimming lessons, and for the first few times was really upset when the 1/2 hour was up, and didn’t want to go home. She improved tons over the few weeks, but we have to try salamander again (I have yet to hear of a kid who gets through on the first time — is it me or is there something wrong there?!?). I’m sure she’ll get it the next time around especially since we’re going to be spending lots of time at Auntie Evelyne’s pool, and of course, the beach.
How cute are they?!?

Lucky number 7!
There's no combination of wordsI could put on the back of a postcard,No song that I could singBut I can try for your heart,Our dreams, and they are made out of real things,Like a shoebox of photographs,With sepiatone loving,Love is the answerAt least for most of the questions in my heart ,Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together MMM, it's always better when we're togetherYeah, we'll look at the stars when we're togetherWell, it's always better when we're togetherYeah, it's always better when we're together And all of these momentsJust might find their way into my dreams tonightBut I know that they'll be gone,When the morning light singsAnd brings new things,But tomorrow night you seeThat they'll be gone too,Too many things I have to do,But if all of these dreams might find their wayInto my day to day sceneI'll be under the impression,I was somewhere in-betweenWith only two,Just me and youNot so many things we got to do,Or places we got to beWe'll sit beneath the mango tree now Yeah, it's always better when we're togetherMMM, We're somewhere in-between togetherWell, it's always better when we're togetherYeah, it's always better when we're together Love you, Travis!!
Back and better than ever!
Great even.
I spent. and spent. and spent.
and spent.
I bought things not on sale. (shock!! — and now I’m really glad Travis doesn’t read this!)
I reminisced about the good ‘ol days — single, then happily dating
, with a full time job and my own place with a great roomie. Now, why didn’t we live downtown?!?
I walked Robson St.
I just about had a heart attack when I saw the price of a Coach handbag.
(Me and my Walmart sale price bag didn’t feel quite so comfortable there)
I smelled the Ocean.
I walked around the old neighbourhood where I used to work.
I had breakfast at Granville Island.
I think that is one of my favourite things, and better yet, we met my Grandparents there!
They are the best.
We went to IKEA!
We ate at East Side Mario’s where I got my meal for free because there was a shard of metal in my fettuccini (it’s not supposed to be crunchy!)
We went to Old Navy!
I had uninterrupted conversations!
And, uninterrupted SLEEP!!!!!!
But better yet, I came home to these two:
Benny in his first pair of gitch. I let him choose, and Diego won over Spiderman. He was in them for about half an hour the first time, before he filled it with a big poo. When I said to him the next day, “Tell Nana who’s on your underware?” He replied, ‘poo’.
We’re working on it.
Diego and baby Jaguar don’t like to be peed on.
But he’s got the cutest little bum you ever did see!
This is Benny the bird at the Children’s Festival.
Sarah was in one of her prematurely adolescent foul moods and refused to participate.
The other day I asked her to do something, and she replied, (under her breath), ‘whatever‘.
Sheesh. I can probably take the credit for that one, and will from now on be keeping my mouth SHUT!
Here’s the door!
How cute is that?
Now just imagine the siding back on, rockwork on the bottom 2 1/2 feet, and on the posts, and a new path up to the door. And all the crap on the yard cleaned up, and a new roof, and window coverings in the window…..
sigh.
