About me

Hi!  I’m Karen.

I’m 33.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, grand daughter, niece and cousin.

I am busy.  I work very part time, stay home with the kids the rest of the time and try to keep the house running maybe not so much smoothly, but with as few bumps as possible.  Sometimes my kids wear wrinkly clothes.

Travis and I have been married for almost 8 years.  So far, we have finished Trav’s degree at UBC, followed by his Teaching degree, moved to my hometown, moved 4 times within that town, rennovating each time, completed Travis’ Masters, and oh yeah, had 2 kids.  We are currently breaking the record for staying at one place for the longest time, and are eyeball deep in rennovations.  I never have to worry about a dull moment.  In fact, sometimes, secretly, I long for them.

I am Sarah’s mommy.  She is 4.  She is my sweetheart.  And, don’t try calling her anything else.

I am also Ben’s mama.  He is 2 1/2.  He is my gentle Ben.  But, he is also mastering the art of being the little brother.  He is quite good.

I like to cook.  I like to bake.  I like to read.  I like to play piano.  I like ‘me’ time.  I like to take pictures, and I’m loving learning to do it for real.  I love my friends, and cherish the times we spend together, face to face.  I like to get crafty — with paper, or sewing, or whatever.  Not saying that I’m necessarily good at any of it.

I don’t like the phone much, and I’m not good at returning messages (sorry!).  I hate scraping dried Rice Krispies off of my table or dishes.  I’m learning that I like to get things right the first time, and tend to give up too easily if I don’t get it right the first try (hmmm, wonder where Sarah got that from?).

What I want is for this blog to be is real, authentic and genuine.  Come with me as I try.
